The Sunman Rural Fire Department has implemented the Tone-to-Text application as a means of connecting and engaging its members.
In The Beginning…
The Tone-to-Text application was created based on the needs of the Sunman Rural Fire Department. This department, as well as many others across the nation, was constantly dealing with inadequate communication coverage from their current paging system. The opportunity to use cell phones and the established cellular network was quickly brought to light as a means to supplement the current paging system. Thus, the Tone-to-Text system was born.
Feedback So Far…
So far, the feedback has been overwhelming positive on the use of the Tone-to-Text application. The application has been used numerous times to inform members of emergency incidents, weather updates, training opportunities, and work details.
